On 15 January 2025, Mr. Rashid Al-Mansoori, purchasing director of a Dubai-based fine-jewelry house, landed in Shanghai for a one-day audit of Shanghai Yingmei Printing & Packaging Co., Ltd. The goal: source premium rigid boxes for an upcoming 24 k gold and lab-grown diamond collection scheduled to launch in the UAE, Saudi and Kuwait markets during Ramadan 2025.

In the 800 m² sample hall we displayed 500+ jewelry packages: high-gloss magnetic boxes, velvet draw-string pouches, transparent acrylic display risers and rigid board tubes. The client selected three box styles for further quoting:
Matte-black rigid box, anti-scratch lamination, hot-stamp gold logo, plush velvet insert for 18 k bracelets.
Two-piece ivory board box, embossing + spot UV, hidden magnetic closure, 3 mm EVA foam for diamond earrings.
Drawer-style white pearl paper box, ribbon pull, transparent window for necklaces.
11:00 – Production Walk-Through
Cameras were allowed (NDA signed) as we visited:
Heidelberg XL-106 seven-color press with inline color-management to guarantee ΔE ≤ 2 against Pantone swatches.
Automatic die-cutting station (±0.05 mm tolerance) for clean edges on 2 mm grey-board.
Hand-assembly lines where operators wear cotton gloves to prevent fingerprints on white boxes.
100% inspection tunnel with high-resolution cameras checking glue lines, magnet strength and surface dust.
14:00 – Commercial Negotiation
Over Arabic coffee and Chinese green tea we finalized:
Trial order: 8,000 rigid boxes (mixed SKUs) shipped to Jebel Ali Free Zone.
Unit price: US $1.85–2.40 FOB Shanghai depending on size and finish.
Lead time: 18 days after artwork approval; door-to-door air-freight option in 5 days.
Payment: 30 % deposit, 70 % against copy of AWB.
Sustainability clause: 70 % recycled board, printed with soy-based inks for easy recycling in UAE.
16:30 – Group Photo & Cultural Exchange
Mr. Al-Mansoori presented the team with a commemorative UAE flag pin; we offered a hand-made Chinese paper-cut of the Dubai skyline. Both parties described the meeting as “pleasant and productive,” with a follow-up video call scheduled for February to lock final Pantone colors and insert densities.
